Dear Designers and Supporters of the Clothing Fair;

The Clothing Fair has been the most successful fundraiser in SL history and has raised a total of 14 million L$ ( over 50,000 USD) over the last 4 RFL seasons. This is because of hundreds of committed people...from designers to shoppers and builders to entertainment. It is a shining example of what can be accomplished when a community gathers together for a common goal. For this, we are forever grateful for your time, commitment and generosity.

In everyone's life there are times when they have to sit back and re-evaluate the changes in life and priorities... accomplishments and failures. And although the Clothing Fair has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our lives, it is time now to step away and focus on health issues, RL commitments and our lives together.

We will be closing any groups involved with this event in 7 days. We will send out another notice in case this first one is missed to give everyone a chance to leave before we close it for good.

Again we thank you all for your love and support and for allowing us to share with you one of life's greatest rewards...making a difference and changing lives. Now it is our sincerest hope that everyone involved will remember that Relay is about something so much larger than ALL of us and at the end of the day it's how you live your life and leave a legacy.

SF Designs - 6 Years in SL !!!!

WOW!

That is what comes to mind first when I sit and think how special it is to be one of the longest running businesses in Second Life today. I am one of the fortunate ones who has had the opportunity to get to know Swaffette and Jamir over the past 4 and 1/2 years I have worked on the Fashion For Life event ( Clothing Fair of SL ).

I look through my inventory and see all the outfits I have from my favorite designers. There is a folder called SF Designs. One of only a few that had to have its own folder due to the amount of outfits in there. Every outfit is amazing and made with love . Still this day i wear my first pair of Leather pants that got in Second Life because they came from SF Designs.

I can continue to go on about how amazing this store is but its not just the store. The People who work at SF Designs. The models, the customer service people, Swaffy and Jamir are all amazing and it is because of them that this store is still striving 6 years after opening the door for the first time !

Congratulations to you all at SF Designs... I can not wait for another year of friendship, outfits , love and working with you ! You are a huge part of our heart

I'm privileged to show you 2 stunning new gowns from Entre Mares...Iliana and Trisha.

Iliana is a sassy and sophiticated gown suitable for everything from cocktail party to a night out on the town. I love the detailing on the roses and the layering of the skirt...very feminine. The teal color is quite flattering on every skin tone.

Peacock Queen

When I first saw the ad for this gown I knew I had to own it. This is Peacock Queen...the newest release from My Precious. As with her last gown, for me, she has captured the mystique and glamour of the golden era of stage and screen. I could easily imagine Audrey Hepburn or Lauren Bacall walking the red carpet commanding the attention of everyone around.

The classic black dress with the long waist is very flattering and the addition of the peacock accents make it different and classy. The matching hat comes with and without veil to suit your mood. The hemline gives a peek of leg in front and finishing to the floor in the back completing the elegant line of this gown. I'm looking forward to many wearings of this work of art.

If you haven't been there yet you really should pop over and take a look at everything My Precious has to offer. I guarantee you will find something you can't live without.

Today I'm very pleased to be able to bring you My Precious' newest release Vivienne. This breathtaking gown in snowy lace and satin will make you feel like a dream when you're in it. It reminded me of Vivien Leigh at the height of her career...mysterious and stunningly beautiful. The bodice allows enough of your skin to peek through to be alluring and coupled with the deep cut skirt, it makes for a enticing and sophisticated look.

Well, Nev and I are still going through the "after Relay" inventory search and we found a couple of things from our friend Raven Pennyfeather that we had to mention here. For anyone not familiar with RFyre, Raven creates highly detailed gothic, medieval and couture designs using hand drawn textures and fine attention to detail. When we're looking for event wear, RFyre is at the top of the list of stops. She also makes a mean roast beef...*grins*

Today we'd like to highlight 3 of her latest releases...Clan, Tainted Love and the Boudoir.

Clan is a beautiful Scottish formal set in the red and black tartan pictured here or in white and black. This can be worn with a couple of different options so you can make it truly your own look.

Here we have Tainted Love..hot and sexy glam goth. I love the textures and different options available to style it for any occasion. It's available in black, indigo and red.

Fashion For Life

As many are aware, Nevar and I made some major changes to the structure and format of the clothing fair this past year. Because the changes were so successful, after much discussion and soul searching, we've partnered with the American Cancer Society to bring to Second Life Relay for Life's newest For Life event..."Fashion For Life".

What does this mean for you, the shopper? It means we will continue to bring all the wonderful designers and styles you've come to expect. We will work hard to keep bringing together the best builders, artists and content creators to give you one of the best shopping experiences in Second Life. Oh and you'll see some different signage. *grins*

We are thrilled and honored to now be a part of the For Life events in Second Life and we hope to continue for many years to contribute to the fight against cancer. Someday, we will find a cure...and until then...we Relay!

Avrele Designs

On Sunday I ran into one of my dear friends Avrele Guisse and as we were talking she was excitedly telling me about her last 2 releases, which unfortunately I'd missed while being wrapped up in the end of the Relay season. She graciously passed them to me and I ran home to try them on...as any good fashionista would. *grins*

This gorgeous red one below is called Necromonger. It's a beautiful gown made of rich crimson velvet with the black lace accents and gloved and finished with the long spine ornament in the back. The thing I really like and admire about Avrele is the fabric textures, they seem to come alive. This gown has a couple of different options...no spine ornament, removable side train...so you can customize as you desire. It also comes in black and plum.

And next is Christine. This is a wedding ensemble, again with a few options to make it truly your own. I love the detail on the dress....the pearl and jewel accents, the fine lace and the unique veil. Remove the veil and lace skirts and you have the perfect evening gown. Oh and underneath all this is a scrumptious lingerie set to round out the details.

Narcisse by Agnes Finney

OMG...these are the words Nev used when he saw this gown. Agnes Finney's newest release is one of the sexiest and most provacative gowns I've seen and had the pleasure of wearing for quite some time. Narcisse is a daring gown and will stand out in any crowd. The fine lace and sheer dress comes with a couple of different options from long to short with varying degrees of modesty so anyone can enjoy it. If you were looking for the perfect "little black dress"...this is definitely it.

Don't forget Agnes also has this beautiful and feminine gown below in the Platinum Hunt. So while you're over picking up Narcisse be sure to look for that little box as well. You definitely can't go wrong with either of these.

Platinum Hunt Begins tomorrow!

Beginning August 8th and running through the 30th, this one looks to be very exciting. 100 of SL's best designers have been hand picked to participate and for a mere 10L each you can get some awesome looks. Each of the gifts in this hunt are worth far more than that. You're looking for a little jewelry box with a pearl inside and the hunt items are not so well hidden you'll need an army to find them. The hunt will start at the ISPACHI main store.

Mimmi by Bliss Couture and Alienbear's Designs

Whenever I have the privledge of blogging the extraordinary designers that participate in the Clothing Fair every year I jump on the chance and this pairing of creative minds is no exception. Alienbear Gupta of Alienbear's Designs and Amutey Decuir of Bliss Couture worked together on a beautiful pairing of a highly detailed and exquisite gown with the intricate and stunning jewelry set named after Miss Bliss Couture 2010, Mimmi Boa.

Anyone who knows me is aware I love purple...as if my name couldn't tell you...and silver is a very close second so this was a perfect ensemble for me. I'm including 1 full length shot of this outfit as well as a couple of close ups so you can see for yourself the fine attention to detail.

This first shot shows the magnificent crown coupled with one of the 4 sets of earrings and 2 necklaces included with the set paired with the finely detailed lace top of the rich purple gown.

The second shot shows the daring plunge of the back of the gown ending with the ruffled bow cradling the rear view of one of the 3 belly chains. This is sure to turn heads at any soiree and perhaps finally catch the eye of that handsome man you've been watching from afar.

And finally these last 2 photos of both ads featuring Mimmi Boa and the many mix and match choices to put this ensemble together in whatever fashion suits your fancy that day.

This year's Clothing Fair in March produced a very very special gown . Even today i get IM's about where can i get that gown in the poster you used for the Clothing Fair.

Well, This is the last weekend of Relay for Life fundraising and we have pulled out the gown for one last showing. For anyone who did not get the gown and would like to have a copy of this beautiful dress created by Kimmera Madison of Tres Beau, IT IS AVAILABLE FOR THIS WEEKEND ONLY. This amazing gown will be retired after the Relay for Life event is over.

The sims are getting the finishing touches and the designers are quickly filling thier stores. Although yesterday all the scrambling took it's toll on builders, designers and the committee as we finally all fell over in a communal heap.

An event of this proportion would never come off without the genorousity of people who believe in RFL and want to help in any way they can. Each sim this year is possible because of our incredible sim sponsors and we'd like to take a moment to thank them all.

As the excitement builds for the opening of Clothing Fair 2010, it's important to Nev and I to sit back and reflect on all the wonderful people that worked to pull this together...builders, sponsors, designers and friends all joining hands to raise money for a cause that's touched all of us in one form or another..cancer. The theme this year has an international focus and it has warmed our hearts to see people from all over the world participate in this event with us.

The RFL Fund raising season is almost on its way. This gives us an opportunity to tell you about an amazing fundraiser as part of the fair .

I have been sitting here this evening going over my mental list about the Clothing Fair. Tomorrow the sims arrive and the builders can finally get the builds onto to the sims. I cant wait really to see this come to life and to share it with each of you this year. When we picked the theme this year, we had some amazing ideas, lots of dreams and hopes. Could this even really happen? Would we be able to pull this off? Well the answer to all our questions 7 months ago is "Yes!"

So in less then 14 days , 150 of our favorite designers, Lots of clothing , musicians , DJ's and Builders from all over the world will kick off this amazing event . Relay For Life will start and records from the years before will be broken again. I just cant wait...

So here we go ... Look forward to all the news and info about the fair... This will be the best one yet!

Dedication Walls - 2010 Clothing Fair

Its that time of year that we start to gather our names for the dedication walls. This year we will have a very special area in the Clothing Fair for very special people. All of us participate in Relay for Life for different reasons and its important that we pay some tribute.

This year we are going to be doing something different. We will have three areas to Celebrate those in our lives who have been affected by Cancer. It doesn't matter if its here in Second Life or in your Real Life, We want to Celebrate, Fight Back , and Remember everyone.

We will have three walls, One for Survivors, One for Caregivers and One Memorial Wall.

If you have someone you would like to put on that wall, please drop a note card to Amethyst Starostin.

Note card must include name of the person and what wall (Survivor , Caregiver , or Memorial).

All note cards must be in by March 5th so that we can get the walls ready for the opening of the fair.

Clothing Fair 2010 --- Coming Soon !!!!

The Clothing Fair committee is proud to announce the dates for Second Life's 4th Annual Clothing Fair benefiting Relay for Life. Events are set to launch on Saturday, March 13th at 3pm slt and run 24/7 through Sunday, March 21, 2010 when the doors must close at 9pm SLT.

The Clothing Fair began as a dream three years ago with 34 stores participating in this event for Relay for Life. Since that date, it has grown to over 150 designers over 9 sims and has raised over 11 million Linden Dollars for RFL.

This year is no different. Prepare to be immersed in 8 of the greatest "Fashion Cities of the World" surrounding a center sim patterned after the UN Sculpture Gardens containing sculptures from some of SL's most talented artists.

We have some of the cream of the crop coming together in the fashion world of Second Life bringing designs from all over the world to this virtual shopping experience. Each of these designers dedicate months of time getting ready for this event. They are all committed to raising as much money for Relay for Life as possible.

This year we are again inviting the Live Musicians and DJ's of Second Life to join us. Covering 24/ 7 through-out the fair, fund raising, and letting us all know just what can be found through-out the 9 sims.

Wishing On A Cure – teams’ registration for Relay For Life of Second Life opening soon!

RELAY FOR LIFE OF SECOND LIFE is back and it’s bigger and better than ever! This year’s theme is ‘Wishing On A Cure’. Teams’ registration opens soon in preparation for fundraising from March to July, culminating in a 24-hour walk on July 17-18 around a virtual track.

Don’t worry if you haven’t taken part in a relay event before. There will be an opportunity to learn more at a series of informational meetings on February 12 and 13 where the incoming Event Chair Tayzia Abattoir , together with the American Cancer Society’s official representative in Second Life, Stingray9798 Raymaker, will present an overview and hold a Q&A, supported by the Event Co-Chairs MamaP Beerbaum and Nuala Maracas. Each team will also be assigned a mentor who will coach the team, brief them on new developments and answer questions.

‘This year we’ve paid special attention to training’ says Tayzia. ‘During the informational meetings we’ll explain what goes on at Relay, how to form teams, and how people can get involved in the event.’ She added: ‘Each team will be assigned a mentor as well. We have a great group of enthusiastic mentors this year who have already been busy training for over a month so that we’re ready to go as soon as registration opens.’

Relay For Life of Second Life (RFL of SL) is a division of Relay For Life in an online virtual world. Relay For Life teams fundraise from mid-March through mid-July. Hearts in Harmony for Haiti

Thank you for participating in the Haitian Fundraiser. As you know this tragic event has effected a lot of people all over the wold. We are only a small part of the help that is reaching out to them. All donations will be made to a non profit here in SL called Builders of Arda, This group is already in Haiti working in the city of Meno. This is a registered 501c3 , verified by Lindens and the state of PA. The funds raised by them will be funneled into food, shelter , clothing and items needed for the welfare of people in the earthquake area. Contact person for the charity is Phoenix Seelowe.

We sure have some amazing builds going on for this years Fair... so I hope you are all getting ready. The New York City Sim is in full swing but they have decided to ask for some more help from the community. SO... Please read the following announcement from Melody Regent.

Regent Estates has been asked to sponsor and build the New York build sim for the 2010 Clothing Fair benefiting Relay for Life.

There will be 9 sims in total, with the theme of " Fashion Cities of the World". It is our job to build, in full, the NYC sim. The Clothing Fair will play host to 130 of the top clothing designers from across Second Life.

There are 8 amazing cities and one United Nations, all coming together for one great cause. New York is one of these important sims and we are honored and thrilled to have been asked to participate in this great project.

The sim will be based on many of the current builds in our New York NYC, which has gained notoriety over the years for its tribute to the World Trade Center Towers and the tragedy of 9/11. Voted best Memorial in Second Life, we are honored to be able to give back to another worthy cause, the Relay for Life.

Included in the sim you will see the Lady herself, The Statue of Liberty, as well as the New York Library. Among other buildings planned are the Empire State Building and the famous Flatiron Building.

You may be asking yourself "why is Melody going into all this?" Well, I will say that our builders were so honored to be asked to be a part of this we couldn’t say no. But that is not the only reason: we decided to come to the community itself, and offer a way for some of you great builders to join in this worthy cause with us.

We are looking for 10 builders to join us in this endeavor. We want to offer a way for you, as a builder, not only to give back, but also to get your work out and seen by THOUSANDS of people over a 10 day period.

If you would like to be a part of this project, please continue for more information on what we need:

• NYC skyscraper style buildings
• Exterior footprint of 25x25M
• Interior space of 15 m deep x 25 m wide x 20m tall
• Minimum height of 70m
• Maximum height of 200m
• 200 prims or less (The fewer the better!!)
• No textures over 512x512 (256x256 is preferred)
• Mega prims are allowed but must be phantom
• Single front entrance
• Only the main floor must be functional – IE, no multiple floors needed
• Nothing scripted
• Completed build in a building rezzor (one can be provided if needed)
• Minimal sculpty use, if at all
• Must provide the finished build copy/mod to Melody Regent and the Relay for Life manager (to be named later)
• Interior must remain flat and neutral in color
• A full permissions copy of your logo or ‘name plate’ to be used for promotional use.

All builds must be turned in no later than January 30th. The sooner we get them, the better. You may replicate a RL building or come up with your own design. You are welcome to turn in as many entries as you wish, we will accept only the best of the designs for the limited space available.

When you turn in the build, please include a folder labeled “NYC Clothing Fair – (your name)”. In the folder we will need a copy/mod version of the building in a building rezzor, a landmark to your store/location (if available), Company logo and a notecard with any information you feel we need or about you and your company.

We will be announcing the names and store locations of all the builders that we use to the forums, in Prim Perfect and to our New York group with over 6000 members. You will also get a sign outside the build that honors you as the contributor.

We also have some ‘filler’ places available that need to be built. These are simple builds that will have nothing inside them. They are merely for looks and there to fill the space between buildings. If you want to contribute to these as well, please contact Melody Regent directly for more information.

Builders Wanted for the Fair Sims

Sim Builders Wanted for the 2010 Clothing Fair benefiting Relay for Life .

The Clothing Fair is in planning and we have over 130 clothing designers this year all coming together to raise money for Relay for Life 2010. This project will consist of a 9 Sim build with the theme "Fashion cities of the world".

We are looking for experienced builders who take the utmost pride in their work. Our goal, as the builders, is to create structures that are not only true to the architectural style of each city we have chosen , but will stand long as examples of our dedication and love for creating an art form others will enjoy.

This requires not only fine building skills, but the ability to work well with texture creation and application as well. While there are countless off-the-shelf textures that come close, a majority of the buildings we create require custom made textures. As such, the experience of working with programs such as Paint Shop Pro or GIMP2 ( or any other program that allows for alpha channels) is very important for Clothing Fair builders.

We are looking for builders who are interested in building full Sim recreations of the following cities: New York, Melbourne, Rio de Janero, London, Paris , New Delhi, and Milan. There will be an over all theme and direction for the build but creativity and skill of our builders is also important.

If you wish to be considered for this amazing event please send your note card to Nevar Lobo or dana Vanmoer. All note cards should include, your name and example of your work ... including LM of builds.

This is a volunteer position as money raised from this event goes to Relay for Life. Event will take place in March.

We are so excited! The invitations have gone out and we filled in less than 2 days. We have over 130 designers spanning 9 sims this year. This year's theme will be "Fashion Cities of the World" and we have some great builders and builds planned. Over the next couple of months we'll be filling everyone in on dates and other information. We have a Moolto group and in world Subscribomatic group if you'd like to be kept up to date.

The second Hunt for the guys is on its way... well actually about half way through.. I finished it over the weekend and wow these designers have gone out and really done some great stuff to get all the guys dressed to the hilt. You can find everything you need all over the grid at stores I never even knew existed.

They are also having a photo contest and you can get more info from the group on that. You must be in the Make Him Over group to enter that contest .

So The hunt runs untill Nov 15th ... if you haven't started .. well guys get to it cuz there is 173 stops along the way !!!!

Get your pink on today for a 15-hour Pink-A-Thon for breast cancer awareness!

SkyBeam Estates in cooperation with the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is helping to spread the word about breast cancer awareness during breast cancer awareness month with a 15-hour Pink-A-Thon. The event, on October 17, is being organized and hosted by Nevar Lobo, Amethyst Starostin, Neill McCullough, Charlene Trudeau, and all the community at SkyBeam Estates. It will take place on two sims, starting at 6am SLT and finishing at 9pm SLT.

A celebration of courage and caring!

On Sunday, October 11 starting at 11 am SL time there will be a fabulous MAKEOVER MAGIC fashion show on the American Cancer Society Island. Three cancer survivors and a caregiver, along with their fashion mentors, will display their new looks - shapes, skins, hair, clothing, AO's, and accessories. Please come and join us in this celebration of courage and caring!

MAKEOVER MAGIC is organized by volunteers from the American Cancer Society in Second Life and SL's Cancer Survivors Group and Caregivers Group, led by Cinders Vale. It is the Second Life equivalent of a real-life American Cancer Society program, ‘Look Good...Feel Better’ - a nationwide, public service program in the USA to help cancer survivors to look good, improve their self-esteem, and manage their treatment and recovery with greater confidence. This year, 2009, is the 20^th anniversary of LGFB which is now available in 19 countries around the globe ... and now, also, in Second Life.

Cinders explains: ‘We have adapted the ACS program to fit our virtual world. A virtual makeover will include everything from new shapes, skins, hair, clothing, AO's, accessories. Each participant will be assisted by two mentors, to find that new look that will be amazing.’

This year Makeover Magic has been opened up also to cancer caregivers. ‘Any cancer survivor will tell you just how important their caregivers are. Cancer caregivers deserve some pampering too’ says Cinders.

The three cancer survivors selected for this program are RebelMum Slade, Dwen Dooley, and BluesSweet Tomorrow, who will be modeling their new finery alongside caregiver Darcie55 Kraus.

Their fashion mentors are: Fire914 Flaman, Jacksonn Munro, Tiffany Dragonash, Sharron Schuman, Millie Gears, Helena Geiger, Arlene Muircastle, Cody Bolero, Aryon Dagger, and Boot Janus.

RFL Hope Hunt and Race - Starts today !!!

Spreading the Hope – RFL Hope Hunt + Race begins Sunday, September 27

Starting Sunday, September 27, the Relay for Life of Second Life Hope Hunt + Race will be taking place throughout Second Life. The Hunt will last for three weeks from 10am SLT on Sunday, September 27 through Saturday, October 10. All proceeds go to Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society’s signature activity.

This is a treasure hunt in Second Life. It was conceived by the ‘All-Stars’ Relay for Life team who originally organized a hunt in June, but had to close down the hunt due to technical issues. They have now resolved the issues and are looking forward to a successful event!

So how does it work? Over 200 participating merchants will hide pink Hope roses at their locations. Like most hunts, many of the merchants will be putting give-away items – ‘swag’ – in the roses. There will also be 100 roses on the American Cancer Society sim. Unlike many hunts, merchants can place as many roses as they choose at their location – there is no limit. The rose represents hope for a cure, and the organizers chose pink for this event because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This is also a ‘race’. Cash prizes have been donated and will be awarded to the winners at the conclusion of the event, as follows: first prize: L$45,000; second prize: L$25,000; and third prize: L$10,000. The prize money has been donated anonymously, in honor of a loved one who lost the battle to cancer.

To take part, hunters click on a sign to receive a free Hud, which they can wear, which will track the number of roses they find. The signs are set out at participating merchants and there is no entry fee. The leaderboard will be displayed on the Hope Hunt website: http://thehopehunt.blogspot.com/ and will be automatically updated every three hours.

The merchants will purchase the roses they place at their location(s). All proceeds from the sale of roses go directly to Relay for Life. There will also be a website that provides merchants with ‘traffic reports’, showing the number of avatars who have found roses at each of their locations.

Says Sidda Jubilee of the All-Stars team: ‘Each and every one of us at one time or another has been touched by cancer. It has destroyed so many lives and Relay for Life enables our avatars to participate in defeating this enemy. We want to stamp cancer out of our lives now and forever. As we were reading over the feed today and saw the various bloggers showing their support of Rebel and RH, we felt compelled to add our feelings and support as well.

Nevar:

When we heard about what RH and Rebel woke up to yesterday, lots of thoughts when through our minds.

For me personally, being one of the organizers of the Clothing Fair, I am very angry and disgusted to think that someone could go and blatantly attempt to destroy these two amazing designers. Then my next thought was, I hope this doesn't take them from the Clothing Fair.

Rebel Hope and RH Engel have been two of the biggest supporters of the Clothing Fair and Relay for Life here in SL. In 2007, when Pips and I began the Clothing Fair, they were the first designers to step up and say "yes, this is an amazing idea". Rebel walked with us talking and laughing for about an hour as she told stories of people close to her who had suffered from cancer. Today, I still thank her for introducing me to Relay for Life and sparking my passion again for something.

I can speak for all of us when I say this .... the Committee of the Clothing fair is dedicated in our support of the content creators of SL and will do our part to help put a stop to this.

Amethyst:

When I first came into SL in June of 2007, the first Clothing Fair had already come and gone. My love of Rebel and RH started 3 weeks after my rez day when someone took me to their sims when I was looking for clothing and furniture. And the very first things I purchased were from those sims.

In 2008, I had the pleasure of meeting them in person at the Clothing Fair. They were warm and giving and I was so honored. I remember shaking my head as I read the posts from the person who so blatantly and thoughtlessly stole from them and still can't understand where the hatred and attitude comes from.

So, this evening as Nev, Dakota Christensen (awesome DJ, Mom and friend) and I were talking about this, we decided to put on our favorite Rebel clothing and RH jewelry.

First, this is Dak in Tease. She loves this dress so much she got it for all of her bridesmaids to wear when she married Max.

Then we have Nevar in Branson, his absolute favorite tux. I swear he almost lives in it. And with all the options, he even has a tie to match his Calico RFL hair.

And finally me in Memories. This is the very first gown I ever bought. I remember spinning in it just so I could watch the "flextasy" skirt...feeling like a princess. The necklace and earrings are RH's Premonition in platinum and ruby.

What: "Mexican Spirit". A fashion show and charity benefit for Lindens for Language, to feature the regional costumes of Mexico by designer maycoco Capra.

Why: Lindens for Language is a charity project sponsored by Instituto Espanol Second Life. Lindens for Language purchases computer equipment for Spanish language teachers in Mexico who lack the required computing power to function in Second Life and who lack the finantial resources to purchase what they need.

How: To the backdrop of the the incredible tango guitar of Joaquin Gustav and our new seaside stage and runway, Instituto Espanol and Miramar Modeling Agency are thrilled to present "Mexican Spirit", regional Mexican costumes by designer marycoco Capra. "Mexican Spirit", commissioned by the Institute as a fund raising activity to benefit the Lindens for Language project features 16 never seen before designs.

The colors, clothes, and history of Mexico will come alive as we celebrate Ms. Capras first professional show. A long time designer of contemporary clothing, marycoco accepted the Institute's offer of a commission to produce the costumes of her culture with glee. Over the past year she has dedicated herself to her craft and her culture. The results are the highest quality historical representations of Mexico's past that can be found in Second Life.

From the costumes of the Aztecs to the contemporary style of Guadalajara, marycoco has captured the "Spirit of Mexico". Clothing Fair 2010 Planning has begun

Amethyst and I have been working on some early plans for the clothing fair next year. Trying to get the voice of everyone we have started a group on Moolto so that people can join into the discussions and help us try to make sure we get what everyone would like to see.

There are a couple ways to stay in touch with information as we go through the planning of the fair. We have a Subscribe - o- matic group set up in world you can join at any number of stops, you can always read the blog here and that will keep you up to date, or you could join us at Moolto and give your thoughts through the group...

We just finished the closing ceremonies for this years Relay for Life ... WOW... I don't have the words right now but through my tears of joy and the strength and love I feel for each one of you that gave just 1L$ this year... I had to say thank you !!!

Its been a very long year for us... we started last September planning the Clothing Fair... Amethyst and I have been so blessed to have met so many people along the way and friendships have been made that will never go away... again ... Thank you ....

I would like to share the total that was just given out... we have raised to right now ... $261,651 USD. WOW.... yes that is $261,651!!!!!!

SO to everyone who Relayed with Amethyst and myself this year... Thank you .... Thank you ... and Thank you ...

Relay For Life is winding down

We only have a few days now before we all take to the track and begin our 24 hours of walking. I have been sitting here all day reflecting back over the past 5 months and all I can say was WOW. You know we started the fund raising season with the Clothing Fair and then the events just took off from there. Sunday night , I was sitting at my computer so tired after the Relay-stock '09 event ended and the chat started up again . They had just announced that the amazing people of Second Life has passed 225,000 USD. I watched the chat just explode with excitement and found a new burst of energy ... It got me started thinking already about next year .. and dreaming about the clothing fair and the things we might do.

Its been an amazing season of fund raising and all I can say is Thank you for everyone who Relay's with us here at the clothing fair...

We lost a friend this year in SL and when ever that happen it pushes a lot of us to dig deeper into our hearts... ON Saturday , we had a tribute concert for our friend... Lachlan Campbell... A thought I would share this video with you from the concert....

Thanks for Relaying this year everyone ... and get ready cuz soon we will be planning for the next Clothing Fair...

Many people in the world are disabled and for a long time I wasn't ready for people to know that I was disabled . I have been working with these wonderful people here at Style Enabled Modeling Agency , its been such a wonderful experience as I have been empowered to begin talking about my disability and have found other ways to help people here in SL .

I want to personally thank the following designers and people who helped with this fashion show: Lemania Indigo, Simone Stern, swaffette Firefly, Ross Myhre, Alyssa Bijoux, Amutey DeCuir, Wiccan Sojourner, dana Vanmoer, Roland Zepp, Amethyst Starostin, Sasy Scarborough.

People with disabilities make up approximately 20 percent of the SL population. For many people with disabilities, SL is about as “barrier-free” an environment as it gets - People who cannot walk in real life can fly and teleport here in SL. Some, however, are not as fortunate: Deaf and hearing impaired people can be unwittingly excluded from voice chats, and people who are blind or visually impaired still face massive challenges in being able to use the highly visual 3D environment at all – Which is why Helen Keller Day is coming to Second Life, Saturday, June 27th. It’s a day that is set aside for 24 solid hours of information, education, exploration of employment opportunities, arts and entertainment, and social engagement, at the four The Ye, Olde, Supporte, Faire islands. There will be vendors, employers, presentations, and mainly… fun.

Fantasy Faire 2009 Hasn't Ended Yet!!!

When I first came to Second Life a few years ago, I never dreamed of meeting and working with so many gifted and talented people from all different walks of life. This year, I have been blessed to meet a few amazing people hiding in the woodwork. As all of you know, the Clothing Fair is very close to my heart because of the reason we have it...Relay for Life.

A few months ago, when the planning of the Fantasy Faire started, I got a message from Ember Farina asking if she could pick my brain. I chuckled when I received the notecard full of questions as I realized this was the first time anyone had ever asked how I did the Clothing Fair. I was pleased and honored I was approached and answered her questions, making myself available for any others she might have.

What came out of that initial conversation is just another example of how much of a difference a community can make when they put aside the competition and join efforts for such an important and needed cause. I encourage you to take some time this weekend to explore this amazing event, see the builds and creativity, thank the vendors for giving their time and talent, stop by to enjoy a great concert and support Relay as it winds down into its last 29 days!!!

Today I was again shopping at the Fantasy Faire. Its been loads of fun for me to visit and not have to worry about any of the behind the scenes work. I have to say tho... I am loving the merfolk sim totally underwater (yes i did go swiming), but now I have to tell you about this mornings experience.

Who Knew!!!! When you hit the tp at the Central area of the Fantasy Fair you would be transported up into the galaxy among the stars and planets to find all your favorite Sci-Fi Shops. I should have known after The Merfolk sim that the builders would pull something ... but wow this one really rocks ... Here is a picture or two for you ....

Make sure you view this sim at midnight ... you will just be totally awed by what you see...

So once I finished checking out all the things in the shops I really had no idea existed in SL ... (silly me) ... I went back to the landing point and was going to head to the next sim when I see this sign... TP to gardens... well you know here we go to the Sci-gardens... more suprises of course... I found the auction area and yes there is one so get over there cuz there is alot of good things to get for low prices!!!!! Remember ... it all goes to RFL!!!! BID BID BID....

More then that i found another amazing area of color and moon rocks and so lavafalls... wow.. thought I was standing on the moon or something ... ALL I can say is KUDOS to the build team of the fantasy faire!!!!!

Fantasy Faire 2009

Merfolk, Vampires and Witches... Oh My...there is only one place to find them this week and many more Fantasy creatures; The Fantasy Faire benefiting RFL.

I was over at the fair this morning and just amazed with the job that Ember Farina and her team have done. The shops are full, the stage is set and shopping has started. There are 9 sims, with lots of designers from all over the fantasy world of SL. They have brought together such fantasy genres as Neko, Elven, Furry, Dragon, Goth, Tiny and Sci-Fi and hope to raise $4000 USD for Relay for Life .

I've only made it through one sim so far...and of course it was the Vampire and Demon Sim called Dark Realms and gosh, I was so amazed as what I found. Can't wait to get to the others. All this walking around and enjoying it from the customer's side makes me want to start planning next year's Clothing Fair already .

So... I have to at least give you a sneak peek at my favorite sim before I go for a swim and back to shopping... Check out this video about the Merfolk sim... you wont believe the stuff you can find and IT'S ALL UNDER WATER!!!!

Grand Re-Opening!!

Caliber is a unique concept in excellence for all. Within the store falls amazing designs for multiple uses ranging from fantasy to modern wear that both men and women alike will enjoy, fine furniture in Victorian, elven, and Moroccan themes and some of the most detailed period medical supplies in SL.

Aurelius Draken & Nyre Gray, a couple off-line as well as in cyberspace, came to Second Life in winter of 2006. After initially exploring a bit, like many others they rented a property and set about building the home of their dreams. In the process, Aurelius discovered that no one sold the sort of bookcases he wanted for the library, and Nyre couldn't find the sort of dresses she desired, so both began teaching themselves how to build. In February of 2007 they decided to share the things they were creating, and Caliber was born.

Initially Caliber was mostly about clothing; Nyre's dresses were in considerable demand for their feminity and custom-tested fitting. Every dress went through the 'dance-test' to make sure all the prims moved right and had the right positioning even in motion. Little by little, Aurelius' library offerings started to expand into furniture, and people started putting in special requests for things they couldn't find elsewhere in Second Life. That's was the origin of what is now Second Life's most extensive line of medical and herbal products, as well as the Celtic and Persian furniture lines.

Since those early days, Caliber's direction has been driven by the needs of it's customers, fulfilling their visions and enhancing their virtual experiences with beautiful clothing and furnishings. Nev and I are honored and excited to be a part of the Caliber Grand Re-Opening. I thought you might like to see a small taste of the wonderful items you can get at their new store on the Rivendell sim.

I am wearing one of Nyre's stunning designs Aurelis. She gave this out to the group a couple of days ago and once I put it on, I had no desire to take it off. The rich colors and velvet texturing makes this something to truly make an entrance in. As as with all of her designs, this has gone through the "dance" test to ensure you will look amazing as you dance the night away in the arms of your soulmate.

This photo was taken in our living room, which is furnished with Aurelius' cushions, tables and couches. His attention to detail and bold fabrics make this a must have for your home. The couch comes complete with book for light evening reading. The cushions come with 8 different sits so anyone will be comfortable.

Caliber Grand Re-Opening

Over the past couple years working with the Clothing Fair, we have met some great people in SL. We work really hard to put this fair together and when something great comes out of it beside awareness of Relay for Life and lots of funds raised, we get really excited.

This year, I met two amazing designers here in Second Life and it's been so much fun to get to know them . I can remember a couple of years ago, I was walking around RFyre island looking at stores when I saw a store that actually caught my eye and made me go in and look. It was Caliber. The rich textures and amazing prim work was awesome to look at. The designers who own Caliber, Nyre Gray and Aurelius Draken, are two of the best kept secrets of design here in SL .

This year, for the first time, Caliber participated in the 2009 Clothing Fair. A coming out of sorts for them, and now the secret is no longer hidden. This weekend they invite each of you to come and join them as they celebrate the Re-Grand Opening of their Flagship Store.

They have been working hard since the Fair to get new merchandise ready, live music has been booked, treasure hunts are ready and there are two great DJs who are going to come together on May 9th and 10th for this Celebration.

Please come and join us as we welcome Nyre and Aurelius out of hiding and back into design here in Second Life.

I can't believe its over .........

Over the last week, it seems that time has flown by. Almost a years worth of work and this morning we fly around the sims that are not starting to look empty. Just yesterday there was hustling, bustling, music , laughter, and shopping .. now you walk the fair and yes you might see a person or two .. maybe one of the designers trying to decide if they should clean up or leave it for a little bit. Or, those of us who are finally getting a chance to even look in the shops that have been filled all week long . The clothing fair has found its end and we did go out with a bang, Raising almost 400K in the Silent auction bringing our total over 4.5 Million lindens in one weeks time.

There are so many people we have tried to thank that we get overwhelmed at times; however, in all the thank yous we have forgotten two very special people. Today dana and Amethyst were begining to pull up the landscaping around the sims and we all said.. wow we forgot to thank the Hearts. Lilith and Dolly Heart of Heart Garden are two amazing women who have much passion in the cause that we fight so hard for. They are Members of the Relay Raiders team and for the third year in a row they donated as much landscaping as we could need to make the beauty of those sims come alive. Just two weeks ago I contacted Lilith and asked her to help us make this vision come true. Not knowing what we would need or where to even start with our annual list, Lilith messaged me and said dont worry .. I will put together some wonderful things and get them to you ... well that she did and you all saw the amazing outcome...

We thank you Lilith and Dolly !!!

We also want to thanks the staff and owners of photoLife studio, all the bloggers and contest participants., and most importantly , we want to thank you .. the shopper... with out you and your lindens we wouldnt have been able to raise as much as we did this year.

SO here we go .. time to clean up.. take a week to catch up on sleep and then back at it .. Cuz ... 2010 will be here before we know it and it will be time to shop again ....

Clothing Fair Final Day

After a great week of entertainment, fashion shows, treasure hunts, silent auctions and funds raised, we are in the final day of the Fair. If you haven't been over yet, you only have until 8PM SLT to go back and get that outfit you were looking at. To highlight what's happening today:

1. Silent Auction closes at 8:00pm SLT when the winners will be announced.
2. The Photo Contest closes at 6:00pm SLT when the judges will start deliberating.
3. The final Fashion Show of the Fair will be at 6:00pm SLT.
4. A packed day of Entertainment with live shows on the center sim.

The photo contest winners will be announced at a Clothing Fair wrap party tomorrow from 3-5 pm SLT on the Entertainment sim.

Again, thank you to everyone who participated in this wonderful event...the volunteers, designers, entertainers, sponsors, donors and anyone else who had involvement with this event. Every $L raised is one more closer to finding a cure.

First Annual Clothing Fair RFL Photo Contest

The RFL Fundraising season is now on its way. This gives us an opportunity to have an amazing fundraiser as part of the fair .

So...Its time for the first annual Clothing Fair RFL Photo contest!

Category name: RFL exclusive style (both categories: Male and Female)

Goal: Mix and Match the exclusive items available from the RFL-kiosks during RFL Clothing Fair to create a composite style.
Each Item must be purchased from the fair.
The look must include items from at least 3 different designers.
The person must add on the description of the photo the reference of store name and item name for each RFL-item that comprise the final look, so other people can buy them if they wish have the same look.
HAVE FUN!
Mix and Match

Prizes will be given to the Best Male and Best Female COMPOSITE. This event is sponsored by the designers of the fair and photoLife. Each winner will recieve a brand new photoLife Studio plus a wonderful gift bag from the designers.

Clothing Fair and Lag

The Clothing Fair is rockin' and rollin' and the sims are packed to see all of the great designs. But as with all events this size...we have the ever present problem of lag. We've done our part to make it as lag free as possible but we need you too.

Trust me when I tell you people do not care what you are wearing except when it affects their experience of the event. Let me show you some pictures of people with very high ARC (Avatar Rendering Cost).
If you can't move...take a look at what you're wearing. Check your ARC. You can do this by going to the Advanced menu and selecting Rendering/Info Displays/Avatar Rendering Cost.

We are very grateful for each and every one of you visiting the Fair and supporting RFL. Please help us make this event enjoyable for you too.

On the 16th of March the Annual Clothing fair to benefit RFL kicks off at 10am but before it starts there are a few people that deserve recognition for all they have personally put into making this huge event a success.
Just getting the fair to the size it is now and the organization and building involved is a huge achievement.

Clothing Fair Auction

The Relay Raiders are proud to present 7 original dresses designed by a few of SL’s premier clothing designers. Representing the 7 Deadly Sins, these works of art will be auctioned during this year’s “Clothing Fair 2009”, by way of silent auction. The auction is scheduled to run from the sim’s grand-opening on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 9:00 am SLT; until 6:00 pm SLT Sunday, March 22, 2009.

Fashioned after the art of Marta Dahlig, this year’s designs are as indulgent as the sins they represent. Bidding is the easy part… there are 9 sims with over 170 designers represented this year and entertainment scheduled around the clock! Even sin can be beautiful in your second life… and let’s face, there’s a little sin in all of us!

All auction proceeds to benefit Relay For Life of Second Life 2009.

Thar Be Pirates!

Friday morning dawned bright with just a hint of mist rolling off the seas, the tang of salt in the air. Nevar quietly opened the sims to the designers after he and Dana (Vanmoer) checked to make sure all the pirates were fast asleep in their bunks. One small detail was forgotten however, and a cry went up from the lookout as the designers were discovered! The intrepid duo, knowing the fair was at stake, jumped aboard the ship and held back the pirates so the shops could be filled. Dana the Red and Nevar the Black have been hard at work all weekend protecting those special and one of a kind designs from falling into the wrong hands.

In the meantime, as any good fashionista's wife would, I was following the rumor there would be a treasure hunt during the fair as well. After scrounging and scavaging, I did discover one treasure hidden in some of the island foliage. I've included a picture of this amazing fob watch to whet your appetites.

The Pirates Have Landed!

Hello again everyone. As you can see by the picture, the pirates have landed and that means you get another post from me. The minute they arrived, Nevar and Harry (Haroldthe Burrel) jumped on the ship to get acquainted and the last I looked they were slumped against the mast with a half empty bottle of rum surrounded by others in an equal state of happiness singing at the tops of their lungs wondering where the wenches were.

The sims arrived yesterday and we've begun the process of putting everything together. Keep your eyes open over the next few days as we share more news and tidbits. From what I hear there is another contest in the offing as well.

Clothing Fair 2009 Photo Contest !!!!!!

How would you like the chance to be the first one to experience the 9 sim, 172 designer experience that is the SL Clothing Fair 2009? Keep reading to find out how.

We've been working very hard to put together the biggest and best fair yet. Our theme this year is "Pirates" and what better way to get geared up but to dig out all that pirate gear you've got stashed...find a killer sim...and take some photos to upload to Flickr. What's in it for you?

A judging panel of 5 people...all connected with the fashion and photography industries in SL... will choose the best 10 photos of all the entries and the 10 winners and a guest will receive an exclusive invitation to tour the clothing fair sims one day before opening to shop lag free and help us stress test the sims. With 172 of SL's best designers participating, this is an opportunity you won't want to miss!

I couldn't resist sneaking in while Nev was asleep and showing you a peek at the entertainment sim for the clothing fair. We've got some very talented builders putting this together and omg...well, that's all I can say...*grins*

Anyway, here it is...

I'm pretty sure there's a crew or two of pirates laying in wait for all of you shoppers so I hope you're prepared...lol.

On a serious note, Nevar and I have been very blessed to be working with the best people in SL and without them, this would have been only a dream on a piece of paper. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you all.

Relay Raiders HQ, Haute Couture, Second Life. – February 16, 2009 – – The Relay Raiders are proud to announce the dates for Second Life’s 3rd Annual “Clothing Fair”_ Events are set to launch on Monday, March 16 at 10:00 am SLT, and run 24/7 through Sunday, March 22, 2009 when the doors must close at 9:00 pm SLT.

Nevar Lobo, one of the fair’s originators and co-Captain of the Relay Raiders is at the helm of this year’s event. Joined by his wife Amethyst, team captain Haroldthe, Synergy and Moxie the event started to take shape back in October of 2008. “Having been here from its inception, watching this year’s event fall into place has been outstanding”, says Nevar. “The Raiders have mixed it up this year, offering Second Life’s residents a new experience.”

In response to all of you, this year’s event will span 9 sims and feature over 170 of Second Life’s shining stars. “Being able to meet and collaborate with designers from around the world, has been an awesome experience for us," Amethyst interjects, “We're looking forward to providing an even better, non-stop experience.

When asked if she would like to share any of the details, Synergy replied, “We will be offering a Silent Dress Auction featuring original interpretations of the designs seen grid-wide representing the 7 Deadly Sins.” Bidding will start when the fair begins on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 10:00 am SLT and will close at 6:00 pm SLT on Sunday, March 22, 2009. Winners will be announced at 8:00 pm SLT on the 22nd to bid the fair adieu. She also shared that she is hoping both she and Amethyst will offered the opportunity to model the designs throughout the fair. They are outstanding!

As I sit here this morning, I remember why I am so passionate and dedicated about this fair. Every year, I have looked for ways to make it bigger and better and this year we have suceeded. We go through the challenges of getting sims, contacting hundreded of designers, making sure that we haven't forgotten anyone, talking to entertainers, reporters, magazine and newspapers but in the end everything is in place and we open right on schedule.

This year's fair is bittersweet for me. On October 20, 2008 the RFL community lost someone who was just as passionate as I am about early detection and finding a cure for cancer. She was also the person who had spend hours with Pips and me to get that first fair started. Chablis was an amazing woman and I am sure that she is smiling down on us today as we are a month away from this 3rd annual Clothing Fair. This year, I dedicate my work on this fair to her memory.

Additionally in the middle of my reflections, I'm reminded that Cancer is not just the only devastation we face in the world. We never know when something will hit us that will take from us the most precious things in our lives. I was reminded of the brush fires in Victoria and the pain and destruction that is left in their wake. I have met many people from Australia since I joined SL in '05 and I hope all are safe and secure. I wasn't ask to post this but please go to the Moonshine clothing blog and see what they are doing to help.

Clothing Fair 2009 is rapidly approaching and our build team is working day and night to get the stores built, the stage ready and the sim layouts complete. We have a great team of builders this year and they have given nothing but heart to make this years fair the best of the best. Unfortunately, Pips Fetid is not working on the fair this year due to real life commitments so we had to go find the best group we could to fill those shoes. I think we have succeeded.

This year we will be doing something special. 7 designers are working on 7 very special outfits that will be auctioned off during the week of the fair. It will be a silent auction so make sure you save your money. More infomation on this to come as we get closer to the opening date.
We are also working on a treasure hunt. How can you have pirates and not have a treasure? This hunt will cover all 9 sims and should be alot of fun for all.

And now the news that will cause palpitations in all you career shoppers out there (my wife included)! All the shops are full and our total of designers topped out at 175. This is an amazing collection of all areas of the SL fashion community. You will find casual,couture, formal, fantasy,urban,neko, gothic, Roleplay, victorian, vintage , mens (lots of mens), womens and even some accesories like shoes, hats and jewelry. There will be something for everyone here at this fair this year.

It's going to be a great week for the shopping community to come together and have some fun. We look forward to seeing you!

Countdown To The 2009 Clothing Fair!

The Long process of planning the 2009 Clothing Fair is well underway and I can say this will be the best one yet. Doubling last years number from 4 to 9 sims, we have collected over 130 designers who are excited and already creating.

This year's sims are being provided by Eyeing and Babe Daligdig, owners of the Ohana Isles and JD Designs. They are working hard with us to bring Second Life shoppers a week of pure fun and excitment.

This year you will find a collection of stores from all over the grid. We will be offering designs from some of SL's newest creators as well as the long time great designers we all love. There will be something for everyone this year with fashions for men and women and every genre imaginable.

Again, will have a treasure hunt filled with prizes from our wonderful designers, lots of gifts, live music and DJs, a Fashion show and much much more. You will not believe all we have come up with for this special event.

Relay for Life Clothing Fair has had a great year, and is already beginning plans for 2009. So, here is a great outfit to go shopping in. We start with a fabulous mellow yellow Denim Cotton Jumpsuit,from Armidi Limited. . It has six pockets for all those little odds and ends you might need, and a zippered front for easy access and exit. The topstitching detail is wonderful and adds a touch of fun to the look. Then, I buckled on this lovely detailed Armidi Gisacij Au Di Leather Belt. It comes in three sizes, as we ladies are not all built the same.

I then added the Zimbawe Necklace to dress it up a bit and slipped on the brightly colored Neon Stacked Bangles in assorted colors. I need a little protection from the bright sun, so I slip on a stylish pair of Armidi Gisacij Fi Umo Sunglasses. And of course we cannot leave the house without our lovely monogrammed Tangerine leather bag, with convenient side pockets.

And to carry us on this shopping expedition, one of the coolest pair of shoes I have seen,Skyliners, from Shiny Things..An actaul skyline sits atop these funky fun shoes.Okayyyyy, lets shop....

Well, if you can believe it... that noise you hear is the wheels turning and the planning begining for the 2009 RFL Clothing Fair. We have been spending some time talking over the past week or so about how to reach out to the most designers in SL this year and Find the best of the best for the 2009 Fair. Last Year, We included 84 designers over 4 sims and this year we would like to up that number as much as possible.

So, Thanks to the wonderful sponsorship from Subscribe-o-matic we have come up with a plan and its now in place. Yes its a bit early to be thinking of 2009; however, you can join the group now and not worry about missing any news when the time comes.

Right now there are two kiosk up on the grid. One is located at the Haute Couture Sim in front of the RFL Store. The other is located in Innisfree at the Main location of SF Designs. A Little Mystique

Every one loves a little mystique, and the irrepressible team of Moxie Polano and Forda Fairlane, have delivered up another beautiful confection called Le Mystique.

It is a lovely teal color, and has prim flowers which climb sensuosley across the beautifully textured bodice to your shoulder. A sash gently rides your hips and ends in a soft bow on your right hip. The back is a deep *V* which lends to the mystique...The sheer skirt flows beautifully, as all eyes follow you across the room. The outfit comes with a lovely pair of matching shoes, stockings, a shape and of course, the *piece de resistance*, the mask, which gives the outfit its air of mystery. I had the honor to be included on the "exclusive" VIP list for the Preview of VictoriaV's new mainstore. The event took place on Friday, June 6th, with the public Grand Opening set for Saturday, June 7th.

I, along with the other guests, (Moxie Polano, Maxie McBride, Bax Coen, Wyntir Jewell, Melanie Zhao, just to name a few) were greeted by the McMillans' in grand fashion. Vasgez McMillan gave a wonderful speech with VictoriaV proudly at his side. Then commenced the opening with the corking of champagne(Italy's finest, I'm sure) which we were all treated to a glass. The party then moved to the dance floor where we danced the night away to the stylings of DJ SerinaJane Loon, before working up an appetite to shop.

Let me tell you, this mainstore is a shoppers dream come true and the layout is amazing.

Now it's time to walk you through what you will see. You teleport in to appear on the lush red carpet(and who doesn't love being on the red carpet?).
The first thing you see is an awning made of Italian Marble that incases the sliding glass door to the "VictoriaV" promise land. But before i take you in, I want to draw your attention to the outside surroundings. The landscape to the store is minimalistic, which to me is nothing short of simple elegance. Here you will find green pine's, flower beds, waterfalls and the peace and traquility of the surrounding water. It's nothing short of something that you would find in Venice, Italy. The only thing missing is the man on the gondola singing in Italian.

Now let's pass the threshold. You walk past the doors to this magnificent foyer, complete with set of winding stairs that lead to the upper level. Look to your left and you'll see VictoriaV's beautiful wedding gowns, to the right you'll see her formal wear, and just past the stairs is her beloved VIP collection. The only problem you will have with this store is in deciding where to go first! As you walk through you are treated to a maze of designs, each one out doing the next. (Trust me, I'm finicky and I am nothing but impressed by the McMillan's.)

Walk up the stairs, past the incredible sculpture of a woman in the center(I heard Moxie Polano had something to do with this) to find VictoriaV's Lingerie collection. Also upstairs you will find outlet stores to Bax Coen, Alienbear Designs, Zhao, Calla, Style of Edo, and Ayki Skins.

I have to say, the McMillan's have put together an impressive collection. Without a doubt this is a must see.

AMAZING!!!!

Once again, the Fashion community just totally threw me back on my heels. I remember back when I was comming close to wrapping up the Clothing Fair in March, I was asked how I was feeling about the over all event. The only response that I could give was that I was totally speachless and at the time barely holding it together. As alot of people know, you can't usally find me lost for words. But, yet again, I am. Yesterday's Jailhouse Rock for Relay showed me just how deep the community of Second Life will reach if there is a cause to be reaching for. What made it so great was just how excited people got who were participating in the event. The 5 teams that participated in the event yesterday were just totally amazed when I announced the final figures for the fundraising effort. 2,227,185L$ ... who knew that the pockets were so deep. 8500USD in about 16 hours... WOW. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you all who participated, donated, hung around , fought the assest server problems, sat in jails, and just were there in support. Truely Amazing .....

Jailhouse Rocks for Relay

We'll have folks trapped in Jail until enough Bail is gathered to free them, DJ's rolling from 6 am until 9 pm SLT on June 1st and lots of other fun goings on!

This is a multi-team fund raising effort on behalf of the American Cancer Society and the Second Life Relay For Life, being held in the Haute Couture sim! DJ's from 3 stations will be covering the event, providing non-stop fun and entertainment throughout the sim!

AN IMPORTANT THOUGHT

Today's blog is a bit different in that it's not about fashion, or the fashion world as we know it. It's about the friendships that are formed, the respect that you give to each person.

I have been blessed with the friendships that i have formed, and although my days in sl are spent busy working on the agency, not a day goes by that i don't think of these friendships that i have made.

I've learned in the last week that I don't want a moment to go by that my friends don't know how much they mean to me, I don't ever want a day to come that they question how I feel about our relationships. I've seen this happen far too much lately in Second Life that people are overlooked, pushed aside, or ignored because of the way they look or a comment said.

All that I ask is that we all remember that although we are pixels on a screen, there is a real person behind what you see. Kindness, Respect, and Friendships are appreciated by all. And for the friendships that you have now, don't let it come to a point that people question how you feel.

Moxie and Forda, I love you both and we grieve together.

Wo, you will be missed, you were honorable, opinionated, strong, and most of all talented. It was a pleasure working beside you in Tailor Made, and more of a pleasure to call you "friend". You are with us always. We love you. Your at peace now, rest well Angel.

CARNAL LINGERIE LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN TO INCLUDE ZHAO, ALIENBEAR DESIGNS, TIMELESS MODELING AGENCY, AND GABRIELLE SINATRA

Today, the real life company Carnal Lingerie, announces it's first campaign here in sl. Gabriel LeShelle, the founder and ceo of both sl and rl Carnal Lingerie, has asked Zhao, Alienbear designs, Timeless Modeling Agency, and Gabrielle Sinatra to work exclusively with him on his project.

This campaign names Zhao as the exclusive shoe designer, Alienbear designs as the exclusive maker of jewels, Timeless for a supplier of models, and Gabrielle Sinatra for her photography.

Every month, Carnal will be releasing an "Carnal Angel of the Month". Each Lingerie piece that the model will be wearing will be pictured with matching shoes and jewels(sold seperately). Carnal, Zhao, and Alienbear designs will be placing the matching set in their stores so that the customer has the oppurtunity to purchase them all at the same time, or individually as needed.

Carnal, on their rl webpage, will also supply all the links to these stores as well as Timeless Modeling Agency and Gabrielle Sinatra's "Strawberry Fields Photo's". You can also find a Bio about each of the models used along side the bio's of Carnal's rl models.

WHAT DID IT TAKE TO GET HER BALD!!!!! THE CLOTHING FAIR CLOSED WITH A HUGE BANG AT 9PM THIS EVENING!!!!

Everyperson who made a donation to a kiosk, everyperson who bought an RFL Item, every designer who designed an RFL item, every entertainer , every DJ , every team member and the list goes on and on ... Thats what it takes.....

Shortly before 9pm slt this evening a big roar went over the Rezzable sims and the RFL clothing fair as the Relay Raiders team hit thier goal and raised 4 million lindens before the end of the clothing fair.... becasue of that feat... Pips Fetid , the designer and builder of the beautiful sims, will be bald for a week... The efforts of so many people and OMG Natasha Leckrone's Rockin Rockers .... you guys are amazing ! Thank you !!!

The clothing fair was a huge success and we have found some really awesome new friends through all of this.. but ... yes but... the work has only started... the shops are still open in thier main stores, and the RFL vendors are still out there..... becasue RFL doesnt end till the 20th of July .

This clothing fair is now wraping up and the final number will be in tomorrow but it doesnt stop us from thinking what is it going to be like next year... Well, more about that later... for now... i just wanted to thank everyone involved and the entire SL community of shoppers for being part of the event.

Its been an amazing week .. one that some of us will not forget for a long time. There was so much shopping to be done... the music was awesome . ... the models were beautiful !!! Sadly, its going to have to come to an end...

WOW!!! That is about the best word to describe what has happen over the week. I know for myself, I never Imagined that here at 1130am on saturday morning I would be sitting here looking 3Million raised right in the face. The Designers, the Raiders team, everyone who has come and placed a vendor at this fair ... and the SHOPPERS!! How amazing is it the support and drive and love we all share and show here at the fair. I can say that SL is the most amazing place. Together we WILL FIND A CURE!!

Don't forget the fair closes at 9pm slt on the 23rd of March !!!!

Shopping has been awesome.. the designers have really stepped up the game and I have to tell you we set the bar here... how will Pips and I ever out do this next year. There have been so many great things happen here that I cant even begin to put them all down. YOU ARE ALL MY HERO!!!!

We all have reminders of why we are here and this week in the middle of shopping and music and fun, i got smacked in the face with a reminder . I want to say to everyone out there... to remember ... we are one team.. it doesnt matter what kiosk you drop a dollar in or whose item you buy we are raising money for a bigger cause. Relay is my team and im so proud to know that a week into this years campaing we have already raised 6 MIllion Lindens for Relay ... that is more hten 20K USD and how amazing is that..

Statistics show that 1 in 3 people will develop some form of cancer in theirlife time. I don’t even know what to say about these last 24 hours. Thankyou is not nearly enough for your efforts in making this happen.

This has been unbelievable! Opening the sims was a bit like supermanfighting through kryptonite… but people fought through it, and the donations started to pour in. 1Eternally Blessed made an appearance donating a wopping 378,000L, money all of you paid for the ads you see throughout the sims. YOUROCK!

There’s still lots in store in the way of entertainment. Wednesday we willbe dancing to the following:
